Guess who’s back, back again, FOOTBALL IS BACK!
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=Amq4BJAhM9_HQCjpmI.ci11DubYF?slug=ap-nfllabor
After about five months and a long wait, NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell said want everyone in America wanted to hear…Football is back. Yes we were all holding our breaths, waiting, hoping, praying for this day to come. Now that it has the football world will go into a frenzy. This is great news for the American economy. because sports is a big part of it. We hope that the end of the NFL lovkout will pave the way for the beginning of the end of th NBA lockout. Sports are one of the biggest contributors to the American Economy and we need it for our pastime as well.
The end of the lockout signals the beginning of what should be a great season were the new stars will collaborate with the old gaurd to provide an exciting run to the NFL championship. Every team has been waiting for this day to start gearing up for a run to the title. Now everyone associated withthe NFL can have their job back again. Teams can start trading, and dealing players and signing them to multi million dollar contracts. Football season is now truly upon us, and I am sure that everyone is happy that America’s favorite pastime is back.
The lockout was a big deal to only those whon were directly involved. No one associated with the NFL would have gotten paid. Imagine that! Hundred of thousands of american citizenas out of job and looking to get paid? That would be tragic for an already unstable economy trying to get out of a recession. However withthe new Collective Bargaining Agreement set to last for thenext ten years, we do not need to worry about that part today. We just hop the NBA can take NFL as motivation to end their lockout as soon as possible.
By now you have all heard about Tiger Woods’ scandal that opened up in 2009. Yes, the horrid truth about this golfing legend’s private life had been brought out. In one night, Tiger Woods went from the best role model, to the most horrible villain. Every little kid in America was told to look up to this man as a role model. He was the standard for all athletes, married, rich, successful, has a family and is the greatest in his sport. Now, two years on, Tiger Woods is on a downward spiral that looks as if its not going to stop anytime soon. From the best golfer who ever lived, to dropping out of the worlds Top 20 golfers, Tiger Woods’ life has taken a severe hit, and it may not recover anytime soon.
Having a scandal on your back and being divorced is one thing, but not even being in the worlds top 20 golfers is another. Yes, last week the unimaginable happened, Tiger Woods was ranked the 21st best golfer in the world. His off field struggles have obvioulsy left a great effect on this genius’s mind. There is something about Tigers’ swing that is not right anymore. Has he lost his groove and suave that made him the best ever? No i think not, but he has however losty that aura of invinvibility that he once carried with him to every tournament. Tiger has become vulnerable, because of his off field stupidity.
Make no mistake, Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer to have ever graced the game. However for now, he is a stranger wandering the golfing world looking to get back on his feet. Dropping out of the worlds top 20 will leave an effecty on him so great that hopefully he may clean up his act. Everyone wants to see the real Tiger return. The man that wowed us foir the past decade is still around. Tiger just needs to conquer his inner demons to return to the best form. Make no mistake, when he does come back, he will come with such applebomb that it will leave a sour taste in all the other golfers mouthes.
Tiger, we have not forgotten you, so please come back!
It always was gonna come to an end, everything does, but after 3o long years Atlantis has returned from its final mission. As the citizens of the United States we take alot of things for granted, and space shuttles are one of them. We have been blessed to see Atlantis go out to space 135 times. Some countries cannot even see our space shuttles heading out, let alone have one of theirs! Atlantis has been serving the US for the entirety of 3o years, and has done good service. We must be sad to see it retire.
I think that Atlantis retiring is very important to our nation, because it signals the end of era. If i am not mistaken this was the last trip ever by a sapce shuttle. That means we as a nation might not ever go up there again. Scientists at NASA believe they have enough information about space to make scientific inquires about them. Atlantis was the last link between the United States and Space. Today was a historic day, and it should not be forgotten anytime soon. Forever it will be remembered as the day at the last space shuttle came home safe. We do not know what will happen in the future but as of now, this is the last space shuttle forever, or a while at the very least.
Atlantis has an extra significance, becuase it is the longest serving space shuttle in history. For 3o years it has traveled the long distance to space and back. It has given us knowledge beyond our wildesyt dreams. It has made America more interested in the sciences and space related activites. I personally think it would be really cool to go up to space in one of these shuttles. Scientist have been doing it with Atlantis for years.
So Atlantis, we must thank you for this last stand. Thank you for 30 years of great service. Your country respects you and is sad to see you go.
Is Nintendo’s era of success reaching its last stand?
http://blog.games.yahoo.com/blog/842-as-sales-slip-nintendo-faces-uncertain-future
By now you have probably heard of the gaming company of Nintendo. Considered the father of all gaming companies, Nintendo seems to be going downhill. Once upon a time, Nintendo’s games and gaming devices were considered to be the best on the market. You couldnt go wrong by giving a ninetendo game to a young child. Now, Ninetendo seems to be struggling to sell even their cheapest gaming systems and games. So what is happening to the once gaming giant? After more than twenty years of ruling, it seems as if Nintendo’s era of success has come to an abrubt end.
Nintendo was once considered the standard for gaming companies. Everyone wanted to know their secrets and how they made the things that they did. Now with more intelligent operations it seems as if Sony and Microsoft are ready to take over the mantle and fight over the title of Top Dog in the gaming industry. Nintendo recently released the new 3DS handheld. A more advanced version of the hugely popular DS. However sales in 2011 have hit an all time low for the gaming company and observers say that things are only going to get worse. Microsoft and Sony have already released similar handheld devices but at cheaper prices and better value.
Several reknown analysts say that revenue and sales for Nintendo might not get better until they release the new version of the WII, a hugely popular gaming device similar to the PS3 and XBOX 360. However the scheduled released date for that is in late 2012. All of these may amount to one problem, the creativity and knwoledge is not their anymore for the fallen gaming giant. Nintendo just cannot compete with its more sophisticated rivals. However one cannot underestimate the fallen giants resume. They are still the most respected and biggest gaming company in the world. If its one company that can lift itself back on its feet, rest assured that it is Nintendo.
“War On Terror”, is now all over the world.
http://news.yahoo.com/india-terror-attack-kills-17-wounds-81-mumbai-161508702.html
This morning a terrorist attack in Mumbai,India left 17 people dead and over 80 people severly injured. The attacker, is now a hero probably in his homeland and he will forever have the imprints of this large amount of people that were affected by the damage. How can we stop terrorism? How can it be controlled? All of these questions have yet to be answere dafter some major terror attacks in the last decade that have lefty tens of thousands of innocent people dead. In the last decade, terrorism has risen up to an unimaginable number. It has indeed become the most disgusting sight ina world full of bad things.
The ninety eight people that were directly affected by the bombings, now are either dead or have to pay a huge insurance bill. Given that the economy in India is not the strongest, that may be a little hard to do. They will eventually pay them off but it will take along time. Also how about the families of the people imjured? Must we forget about them? We seem to overlook the fact that when one peron dies it not only affect him, but his family as well, not to mention that the whole world feels pity towards the family and anger towards the attacker. Terrorist bombingsd affect the victims, the victims family members and the whole world. I myself feel a certain pity and disgust at the fact that innocent people have been killed and injured on the behalf of some idiotic bafoon.
The people injured in Mumbai should be a testament to the fact that we must try and put a stop to terrorism in the world. It will take alot of money and guts and effort, but it is worth it. At ANY cost we as a people and as citizens of mother nature, must try and put a stop to terrorism once and for all. The world cannot continue to live like this, were we must be scared every time we go to a foreign country, or when we want to fly on an airplane. Stop the racism once and for all, and at any cost.
“The Chines Wonder”, Yao Ming has retired.
http://www.nba.com/2011/news/07/10/yao-update.ap/index.html
So, pending some paperwork to be filed, Yao Ming has retired from the NBA after nine seasons. Yao was known as greatness personified, his unique skill set and amazing size was unheard of. He was a legitamate big man who could do it all. Because of his amazing size, he would score easily, rebound easily and defend the opponent with such ease that it would amaze people. In the 2003 playoffs, Shaq’s defemse on Yao was the stuff of legends, I personally have never ever seen Shaq play such determined defense on any player. yet Yao managed to record a double double. Yao was a respected figure both on and off the court. Fans adore him and always will. He has gone from the NBA but he will never be forgotten.
Yao Ming is probably one of the most important and best NBA players of the last decade. I say this because he helped greatly in globalizing the NBA. His work off the field is just as respected as his work on the field. People in China always look up to Yao as a role model, as a shining light of motivation to get on his level. Yao has touched millions of hearts throughout the world due to his willingness to be kind and his other worldly basketball skills. He made the NBA in China. He made every asian person in the world know about basketball and the NBA. Everyone knew Yao Ming.
Yao’s retirement will not be forgotten any time soon. Sources say NBA executives are begging him to stay playing. Yao however feels that another major injury could ruin his life forever. His presence as an NBA player is so important for the league because of the revenue he rakes, because everyone wants to watch Yao Ming. Sources say that he will still help the league in making the brand great but his impact will not be the same. Yao Ming retires as one of the best international players ever, a Houston Rocket legend and an NBA great.
Springfield is surely awaiting you now, Yao, thanks for all those great years.
Uncle Sam, this time, WE (the people) need YOU.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/breaking/chi-us-jobs-barely-rise-unemployment-up-to-92-20110708,0,2201338.story
Wow! Unemployment has risen up to an astonishing 9.2 percent and by the end of the year could rise up to 10 percent. This is a huge downfall for a nation who was thriving and was known as the place to be for the “American Dream”. At this point in the article above me it clearly states that 9.2 percent of the population is unemployed which means that millions of people have no food on their table and no money in their pockets. Who is to blame for all of this? Who can get us out of this slump? Are we reaching the end of recession or the start of a depression? In my opinion the answers to all of these questions can be answered by the government of the United States of America.
Almost eight years ago, America was the standard for all nations and countries to follow, we were the most prosperous “happy nation” in the world. So what was the cause for the drastic economic failure of the last 4 years? My answer and my opinion is the government. The government has spent billions of dollars on the two wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, but has spent a small fraction of that on the United States itself. The cost of the two wars has risen well above the three trillion dollar mark. Three trillion dollars?!! With all that money, our government could have invested all of it our country to make living a little easier. Imagine all the jobs that could have been created, or all the schools that could have been fixed, or all roads and streets could have been fixed, could you imagine what three trillion dollars would have done to our country? Unemployment has risen because of the stupidity and naivity of the American Government and the American spending system.
In my opinion a solution to this could be too, stop spending as much in different areas and start helping the unemployed people. Unemployment affects the people and their families not to mention the companies and everything in between! You see, if one is unemployed, he wants to spend little or no money. Therefore he will not do leisure activities or bye unnecessary things. If one is working, he can buy a lot of the things he wants and the things he needs. However if one is not working, he will not buy the things he wants, he will only buy the things he absolutely and desperately needs. The majority of the money being spent on the wars should be injected into our economy and into the unemployment problem. Therefore, there can once again be some stability in the proud nation we once were.
